The power of the forest

For many people, the forest is a source of strength. Escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life, leave noise and speed behind. In nature, we escape sensory overload and can ground ourselves again and connect with ourselves and our surroundings. The greenery calms our senses, and the scents (terpenes) of the trees have a health-promoting effect on the human organism. Spending time in the forest strengthens our immune system and has been proven to reduce stress levels. Phytoncides, natural chemicals produced by trees, lower cortisol levels, a hormone associated with stress. Forest environments have also been found to increase the activity of the parasympathetic nervous system, which helps regulate heart rate and promotes relaxation. In addition, spending time in nature can reduce rumination, which often contributes to stress, and improve mood, which can further lower stress levels. Overall, spending time in the forest provides a peaceful, restorative environment that can help individuals reduce stress and improve their overall well-being.

When was the last time you were out in nature?

When was the last time you experienced inner peace through outer tranquillity?

Do you remember the soothing effect of the forest?

Mindful walks

We meet in a small group and begin the session with mindfulness exercises to help us leave everyday life behind. Then we start walking slowly and mindfully. We walk in silence. This allows us to connect more deeply with nature and facilitates a connection with ourselves. In the forest, we slow down and find peace.

Through mindful encounters with nature, you strengthen your individual ability to experience and achieve greater well-being.
At the end of the walk, there is time for anyone who wishes to share their experiences during the walk. We end the meeting with a joint mindfulness exercise and return to the day feeling refreshed and with new energy.

“Climb the mountains and feel the good energy. The peace of nature will flow into you like sunshine nourishing the trees. The wind will refresh you, the storm will fill you with strength, and all your worries will fall away from you like autumn leaves.” — John Muir
